Ongweoweh population

At it’s peak in the 17th century the Haudenosaunee or the Ongweoweh had about 10,000 people.

Today the member nations of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy number about 109,518 in 2016 combined. However, about 125,000 people claim to be Iroquois descendants, 80,822 in the United States and 45,000 in Canada. See below for each member nation.

    5,341 in 2010.

    1,831 in 2010.
  • Onyota’a:ka (Oneida)
    36,388 in 2010.
  • Kanien’kehá:ka (Mohawk)
    38,546 in 2016.
  • Skarù:rę (Tuscarora)
    17,412 in 2016.
